Expanding or relocating business paralysed by the credit crunch – and baulked by their banks from investing in new premises – have found release in ‘Freezehold’, a new initiative service we designed and developed for commercial property developers Frogmore.
The deal is that potential buyers can take a lease on a property with the option of purchasing it later at the original price when funds become available. The price is in effect frozen – hence the name – whatever happens to market values in the meantime.
Freezehold has proved so successful that the scheme, originally introduced at Crossways, Dartford, has now been rolled out at M11 Busines Link, Stansted and Edward Court, Altrincham, and the company has even copyrighted the ‘Freezehold’ name and concept.
